Quebec-artist Yvon Goulet has built a reputation for himself as an “urban folklorist”. 

He finds his inspiration in Montreal’s Gay Village and illustrates the cultural events and festivities of the gay community. He uses the text of the political posters on which he paints as integral parts of his work.

Yvon Goulet est un artiste gay québécois qui vit et travaille à Montréal. Dans ses œuvres, il représente les symboles, les uniformes et les fantasmes qui sont propres à la culture gaie. Il rend ainsi accessibles à tous des personnes, des situations et un imaginaire en général peu connus du grand public.
